Mom gave me this lamp years ago. Hippie cleaned it up. There is a tiny crack in one of the panes of glass. She had it for years and years. The base is very heavy. Mom says its brass but we're not sure. I can't even pick it up. As far as I can tell there are no markings on it to tell me where it was made. Anyone have any ideas of how I could find out? It sits on the end table next to the couch.

Wow- thats a beautiful lamp. You need the Antiques Road show to come to town to help you identify.-mike
Whatever it's made of...it's lovely.
I'm envious. :0)
It's really quite beautiful. If you can print an enlarged photo, I'll bet a local antique dealer could help. Or at least send you in the right direction. The intricate scrollwork should be a clue (I could see it so clearly in the enlarged version).
It looks like art nouveau 1890-1914, but I don't know if it's art nouveau or a tribute to art nouveau done later.
Hi Vicki, I looked at a few lamps online to see if I could pin this lamp down and the closest I came was a slag glass lamp from the 1920's. But this one is more ornate than I was able to pull up on the computer. The ones I saw were were in the $900 price range. So, not knowing for sure , you may have an valuable lamp on your hands. You should take it to an antque dealer and have them research it. It's beautiful. Your mother gave you a lovely gift! ~Ames
