She remembered when they first moved into the house. No furniture. No kids. All they had were each other. That first night they slept on the floor, drank wine and it happened. Red wine on the carpet.
"This is never going to come out," she thought as she scrubbed at the spot on the worn carpet.
Ralph always the tightwad and controller, would never replace it. All these years having to put a piece of furniture over it had taken its toll on her.
Just like she gave up on her marriage and divorced, she gave up on the carpet and started ripping it out. She was in control now and could do what she wanted.

OH YEAH! I love that she took control (for whatever reason, at whatever time) good for her! I liked this!!!
w00t w00t! You rocked this, Viki! I could feel the anger of her scrubbing.
So sad...was the spilled wine just the tip of the iceberg? Nice job...Peace
Well written and such a good use of the prompt ... well done!
Nice use of the prompt Viki! Great job of capturing simultaneous feelings of anger and freedom :)
You go girl! It must be so liberating to get rid of things that reminds you of the unhappy past. Good for her! Great job with the prompt!

I liked your approach with the 'i'll do what I want' Nice :)

Love it. It feels therapeutic just reading this. I, I mean the woman in my centus, could really relate. :)

Oooo, great story. I love the empowerment she gets from ripping out the stained carpet.
Nice! I hate carpet. Just one giant germ and dirt trap. LOVE my hardwood floors. We do have white (which idiot chose white for a FIREPLACE room??) that needs to come out...one of these days we will have saved enough. Nice Centus, giving her the power and control. I like that.
This was powerful! Excellent use of the prompt this week! Well done.
Great job! I could hear the seams ripping in the carpet and the anger unleashing.
I could relate to that...
Well done!
