Again another difficult one for me. I worked on this forever taking out words. It's okay but I had to stop. I'm so behind right now on stuff I'm supposed to be getting done LOL.
The prompt is in bold.
Charlie had gotten tickets to Oprah but I couldn’t go. He called me excitedly and said, “Don’t tell anyone, it was the favorite things show”. He was going out for coffee with one of the Elves that were handing out the gifts.
What was he thinking? OMG! Elves are soooo 2009, I thought jealously.
Charlie came over later.
“How was coffee”?
“How was coffee”?
“No chemistry”.
“Charlie? Do you think we have chemistry”?
“I’ve always thought that. Maybe we should do something about it” and they kissed.
“Who would have thought because of Oprah, we would get our favorite person” he said.

True love, via Oprah! That woman influences EVERYTHING!
Good job.
Awwwh. Finding out that your true love was your friend. Good one! Isn't that the way it should always be?~ Ames
Sweet and lovely. Friends make the best lovers...
Interesting...the power of Oprah!!!!
Well, of course they kissed! Everyone knows Elves have no chemistry!!
I knew Oprah would worm her way into the Saturday Centus eventually. That woman has a pathological need for attention.
;=)
PS. Cute story, Viki!
That's really sweet. I like your use of Oprah as the one who somehow makes it all happen. xo
We don't recognize feelings even when those are right in front of us....I thought of it as one of of that...
dead man and his bottle of wine
Now there's a great take on the prompt and on Oprah's favorite things show!
How on earth do you get from Elves are so 2009 to discovering love in your favorite person. Viki you are a romantic, plain and simple!
Kudos on a great Christmas story.
awe, i love love ... and wow, Oprah has so many interesting powers ...
Sweet read, Viki.
I love romance, and if we have to get it via Oprah, then so be it. If it's real, it's magic. I love this little story.
Merry Christmas..........cj
I loved this :o)
awww how romantic. of course you won him over. elves have funny ears anyway hahaha!
Nice twist to this! :)
OPRAH...she truly is magical isn't she. I loved that you included her in your story.
What a sweet ending to this story!
Another different story...great post...Oprah is the Big Boss for sure...Nice little love story... Merry Christmas... ;)
Dera Viki,
thank you for your comments on my SC-text. Yes, I stuck to a realistic story about envy in the workplace. (My imagination was kinda empty when I wrote it.) So natural dialog is what carries the story.
And now to your story: There is always room for a little romance! Fun take. Good job getting it to work with a prompt about elves!
Best wishes,
Anna
