The prompt this week is a picture.
It was the first time they had taken a vacation in 20 years. Their children for Christmas had bought them plane tickets and booked a hotel room for them in sunny Florida.
Harry and Sally jumped out of bed when they heard a knock on the door. It was room service with their breakfast. They sat at the little table drinking coffee, eating bacon, eggs and toast.
Harry grabbed the newspaper and started to read. “Oh no” Harry said.
“What” Sally said.
He showed her a picture of a frozen orange. “I guess no swimming for us today”.

Harry and sally? When did they meet? Sorry, couldn't resist! Love the snowy florida bummers! Great story!
This was a clever take on the prompt! But you know, a cold day in Florida is still better than most days anywhere else! Kat
Shoot. Go figure!
(Maybe they can make a little heat themselves...)
;)
Most tourist are unaware of our cold winter's here in sunny Florida. It gets pretty cold here. Sort of like going to Montana in June and seeing snow.~Ames
Actually, this was one of the solutions that first came to mind. But since I have never been to Florida (despite invitations from distant relatives who live there), I thought I would do better using material closer to home.
Glad I did not try even it. You have done an excellent job!
Best wishes,

I'm certain that Harry and Sally will be able to find other things to *ahem* occupy their time! Very fun read, Vicki!
I have always been afraid of this very thing for any winter vacation. Habit makes us think late June--between snow and heat, hopefully after tornados and before hurricanes!
This story would be the story of my life if Daddio and I ever tried to plan a sunny vacation..great job!!
Perfect ending! I loved the creative and clever way you meshed everything together well!
LOL! That would be my luck too! Great job with this week's prompt as usual Viki! Your posts are always an enjoyable and creative adventure!
Some days are just like that-lol! Cute story:@)
Good one! The breakfast obviously took their mind off the weather!
Sa-weet! Harry & Sally, one of my all-time favorites, showing up in Florida. Of course it snowed. Sally is so high-maintenance it had to.
that really would suck to take a trip there and have it snow. great story.
I loved this story. I've had friends who have been in this position! They should leave the orange groves to Orange County, CA!
This was very amusing, especially the last line. Thanks, Viki.
I didn't make it to class this week, but I'm enjoying all the different takes on this photo.

oh but what a great excuse to stay in bed!
So many of us can identify with unexpected weather on our vacations!
Good one!
