I have fond memories of Friday night football in high
school. My friends and I would go on the school bus to the games. We weren’t so interested in football. It was
more about the atmosphere and boys although there was cheering for the team,
ha!
I really didn’t understand football until after I met my
husband. He was an avid fan and while
dating we used to watch it every Sunday.
I would ask questions and learn.
We used to bet on teams. At the
end of the season, whoever had the most losses would cook for the Super
bowl.

Evokes some great memories. Well done!

Funny how football brings back old school memories...for me too!
I like the recollection of this rather than a fictional story. Thanks for sharing!
Your post brought back memories to me as well! My first love played in the marching band!!
Thanks for taking me back to my high school days!
Oh how I agree, it was always about the atmosphere and who was there. I still don't quite understand the game.
I was with the band and didn't understand the game either. now that I go to every game for my grandson, my husband and son-in-law tell me what and why about the plays I don't understand. But it's more than that for me. I was my high schools first drum majorette an,then my daughte attended the same school, and now my grandson goes to the same school. It's the old alma mater!~Ames
Great writing...!!
much
Loved this recollection you shared !
Memory flogger time for me too. I used to go to the football games to spend time giggling and watching the boys my girlfriends and me had crushes on !!! :0)
This husband is into college ball.
My first husband was a die-hard and semi-insane Browns fan.
My Grandmother was a 49er's fan, complete with a case of cold long-necks to accompany her jeers and cheers.
I am just enjoying the rest of my quiet house when football is on!
Thanks for the memories!
