Saturday Centus #141

Number of words: 100 words
Style of writing: First Person

I’m sitting on the park bench.  I just can’t get the children and the tragedy out of my head.  It’s been consuming me.

I notice a mother hand her little boy a ball.  He holds it in his palm stilling it.

“Hey lady” I hear as the boy slowly walks towards me.  “You want to see the world?”

“That’s pretty neat” I say.

“Mommy says I’m going to learn all about it when I go to school soon.”

I glance at the mom and both of us have tears in our eyes.  “Yes you will” I say.

Yep, I think many of us are right there with you. May we learn something from it all? I sure pray/hope/believe so.

So poignant.

And so terribly sad.

So evocative of a recent pain...and a universal fear of mothers...nice.

Let's hope all the children can go to school without further tragedies.

Well done!

well said. I hope that those particular tragedies are in the past. It's not right to bring children into such horrors

Oh man.

Tearing up here.

This was incredibly touching.

I wish I could just find a place for all the children so they could grow up without fear.

This was really, really poignant.
