I’m sitting on the park bench. I just can’t get the children and the tragedy
out of my head. It’s been consuming
me.
I notice a mother hand her little boy a ball. He holds it in his palm stilling it.
“Hey lady” I hear as the boy slowly walks towards me. “You want to see the world?”
“That’s pretty neat” I say.
“Mommy says I’m going to learn all about it when I go to
school soon.”
I glance at the mom and both of us have tears in our
eyes. “Yes you will” I say.

Yep, I think many of us are right there with you. May we learn something from it all? I sure pray/hope/believe so.
So poignant.
And so terribly sad.

So evocative of a recent pain...and a universal fear of mothers...nice.
So thought provoking!
You feel the pain and hope for answers.
Happy New Year
Blessings
Let's hope all the children can go to school without further tragedies.
Well done!
feeling for all children going back to school
well said. I hope that those particular tragedies are in the past. It's not right to bring children into such horrors

Oh how I and millions of others wish guns had never been invented
Wonderfully vivid and well written !!! :)
Oh man.
Tearing up here.
This was incredibly touching.
I wish I could just find a place for all the children so they could grow up without fear.
This was really, really poignant.
