Fall has really hit with a vengeance.  I've had to put the heat on the last few days.  It's been going into the 40's at night, brrrr.  Some leaves are starting to change and are falling already.  I've had to sit with sweatpants and flannel shirt on the patio.  I do love the cool weather though.

I went out with the dinner friends on Wednesday and we were hoping to sit on the patio where we went but alas it wasn't in the cards, too chilly.  Oh well.  I still love fall the best.  It will get warmer again for a bit (I hope lol).

Yikes

What a difference from the cool weather we had towards the end of August.  It's been in the high 80's all this week and it will get even hotter..   Mother nature... what am I going to do with you?

Brrr

Not really, but cooler than it should be this time of year.  It's been in the 60's and 50's at night.  I even thought about turning the furnace on today but didn't.

We are getting a nice preview of fall which will be here sooner than we think.  Wow, I can't believe it.  But autumn is my favorite season so I'm good with it.

Rain, rain

I think we might break the record which is 9.77" set in 1902 for June.  I guess it could be worse like in some states.  At least at our house we haven't had any flooding Some days it's been like someone's turned on the water faucet, lol.

It was in the middle 80's on Saturday.  I even had to turn the air conditioning on.  No Joke!

January Thaw

Snow

More than I thought...

First Snow

We are getting our first taste of snow. blech.  I don't think we are in for much.  It is starting to stick on the garage roof and garbage bins, ha!  I hope we still have an Indian summer...

43 degrees

We had to get up early this morning. It was freezing in the house.  Yikes, it was 43 degrees when I looked at my phone. 

Holy Smokes!  I had to turn the heat on before we took our showers.  Too cold not to.  At least I know we don't seem to have any issue with the furnace.

Dreaming of spring

We got quite the amount of snow overnight.  I'm hoping this is Mother Nature's last gasp of a lot of snow.

I know Spring is right around the corner.  Here's a picture I took in Las Vegas.  I'm going to look at this instead of the snow out my window and think about Spring.

Raindrop

Well, this is weird..

Today we stopped to drop some mail off at the mailbox.  It was in front of a drugstore. It had rained earlier.

I got out to put the mail in the box and just as I got to it, a raindrop fell from the overhang.

It fell behind my glasses and right into one of my eyes.  What are the chances of that, ha!

I've heard of "Raindrops falling on my head" but never falling in someone's eye!!

It got up to 67 degrees yesterday.  It was lovely.  I got to sit on the patio for a couple of hours.  

It's supposed to go back into the 30's but I'm happy I got a little taste of spring.

I even got a chance to get Mom outside for about 45 minutes.  She was thrilled.

Spring?

Are you finally coming?  I was expecting you sooner.

We're supposed to have temps in the 40's and maybe even a 50 over the weekend. 

We'll see but I hope so...

I can't believe it.  It's only the middle of March and I have shorts on, LOL.

Spring

How I love thee let me count the ways, ha, ha.


It's been pretty gorgeous around here this week.  High 60's to low 70's during the day.


I'm starting to see neighbors venture out  picking up dead branches.


I took Mom outside one day and she was thrilled to be able to sit in the sun. 


I've been sitting in the patio enclosure with the windows open.  

It won't be long until Spring really comes and we won't have to worry about the cold coming back for a while.  

I can't wait, yippee!!!

Weather

Some people in our area over the weekend had snow that stuck overnight but not us.  We had snow Friday night but by the morning it was gone.

I think this week might be our Indian summer.  Temps in the 60's and sunny.
