The old and the new

So, Happy New Year (even though it's January 6th, a little late;-)

We had a pretty great Christmas.  Son and dil spent around 2 weeks.  One week they stayed at her mom's and the second week with us.  Although I do use that term loosely.  They spent a lot of time with friends which was good.

We did have an eventful Christmas weekend.  We spent Christmas Day at dil's mother's house.  Then Saturday, we took my brother, his wife, son and dil to a fancy restaurant.  Then Sunday, hippie and I went to an afternoon wedding reception. 

The weather was unusually warm over the holidays although in the past few days it has finally changed.  It's gotten colder and we did get a smattering of snow.  I'll take it though considering how it was the last two years. 

I hope everyone had a great holiday.

2015

I'm happy to leave 2014 behind.  It was a tough year.

2015 is shaping up to be another weird, tough year.  Many members of my family are having operations in the coming year, as well as a friend.  I'm doing a lot of worrying about people.  I know everyone will come out good but it is still difficult.

Our son and his girlfriend will be getting married this year which I'm thrilled about.

I wanted to get some painting done in the house last year but things ended up being too crazy.  Hopefully, I will get it done this year.  I have a new bedroom set picked out, if only I can get that room painted so I can buy it.

Who knows what else will transpire this year but I'm hoping the good will outweigh the bad. 

So no goals or resolutions this year, I'm just going to hang on, heh, heh.

A word

I'm trying to decide what to do for the coming year.  I'm not very good at resolutions.

I've heard of people selecting one word to focus on in the new year.  Has anyone done this and been successful?
