Saturday Centus #43

It's Saturday Centus again - in a nutshell, Jenny Matlock gives us a prompt from either herself or a guest submitter and then we have to write 100 or words less related to the prompt (the prompt doesn't count toward the 100 words) Then link it up to her blog. It's open until the following Saturday, so that means you have all week to participate by either reading or writing.   http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/search/label/Saturday%20Centus

The prompt is in bold.

Nancy was going on her dream vacation.

The ATM machine began dispensing twenties and she put them in her wallet.

She drove to the airport and went inside.  All seven of her friends were chattering and hugging each other as she approached.

“Hi ladies”, Nancy said.

“You just made it” one said.

Then they heard, “Flight 2681 for Hawaii is boarding”.

As they boarded the plane Nancy knew this would be the last time they would be going on a trip together.  The last time they would be treating her normal.  Once they knew they would be sad.  It was time to make lasting memories.

“I'd catch a grenade for ya”, Marty yelled.

“What did you say?”  His wife said startled raising her head from the pillow in the dark.

“I must have been dreaming.”

“Honey, I think you need to go to the VA and talk to someone.”

“But Vietnam was so long ago.”

“You probably need a change in medication.”

She reached for him and held him until he drifted off to sleep.

Tears came to her eyes as she thought of how many times she had done this for her husband and wondered if he would ever find the peace he so deserved.

OMG, How cruel Jenny Matlock has been to us this week.  I don't think she's showed us much love with this, ha, ha.   We have to come up with 50 words in Hallmark fashion using this picture.  I almost didn't do it in protest but then I didn't want to ruin my perfect record LOL.  I can't wait until I see what others did.  Go here to see  http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/search/label/Saturday%20Centus

All my life I was waiting for someone.

The moment we met I knew it was you.

You have always made me feel like a hero.

Let’s spend the rest of our life together.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Will you marry me?

Love,

Your Superhero

Random thoughts

1.  I had my jury duty this week.  Being that it was a municipal court, there aren't a lot of jury trials.  My first day was Tuesday.  There was one jury trial and I didn't even get questioned to get on that jury.  We got to leave at 10:30.  On Wednesday, we sat around all morning until around 12:00, when the judge came in and told us he didn't need us because his case was settled.  We got to leave again and there were no more jury trials scheduled so we didn't have to come the rest of the week.

2.  Since this is a smaller courthouse, you just wait in an empty courtroom to see what's going to happen.  The judge from that courtroom did come in an talk to us apologizing for all the waiting around we were doing and she kept us entertained for a while.  She also did a video arraignment while we were waiting.  That was pretty interesting.  She did it on the computer and we could see the guy on the TV monitor next to the judge's bench.  We hoped she might do some more but she didn't, ha.

3.  I know some people don't believe in climate change.  I think if the weather keeps on like it's going, the South and other places that don't usually get snow better start buying snow plows for their streets for future winters, ha.

4.  Down in the dumps.  That's pretty much how I've been feeling.  I haven't felt like doing much.  I think it might be seasonal disorder, or it may be because my 6 month oncology appointment is coming up.  I'm sorry I haven't been commenting much on blogs.  It seems like I'm always behind.  Hopefully, I'll get my act together soon.

5.  Does anyone watch Glenn Beck?  I try to watch his show occasionally but I can only watch for a little bit.  I just don't know what to make of him.

Random thoughts

1.  I've spent much of my time watching the events happening in Egypt.   Amazing...

2.  I got a call for my first EVER gallup poll  last week.  Woohoo!!  I've always wanted to do one.

3.  I hope Punxsutawney Phil is correct with his prediction of an early spring but considering he's only been right 39% of the time it's pretty iffy LOL.

4.  I've started knitting dishcloths again for Christmas ;-)

5.  I'm seriously thinking of using that template designer to change what the blog looks like.  I still can't get a picture in my header.  I'm afraid though it will be a mistake and I'll lose all my stuff.  I'm sure someone's done this.  What do you think?

Sean finally told the doctor about his problem.  He gave him some samples to try.  He took one and then called his wife.

“I did it”, he said.

“I’ll be waiting”.

As he walked in the house, the lights were turned down.  He could smell the scented candles burning.  The anticipation; it was growing bigger by the minute.

” Are you ready to try”? She said.

“Yeah, I think so”.

She changed into her nightclothes and opened the bedroom door.  She heard snoring.   “Thank goodness, the insomnia is gone and I’ll be able to get some sleep tonight”.
