Saturday Centus 61

It's Saturday Centus again - in a nutshell, Jenny Matlock gives us a prompt from either herself or a guest submitter and then we have to write 100 or words less related to the prompt (the prompt doesn't count toward the 100 words) Then link it up to her blog. It's open until the following Saturday, so that means you have all week to participate by either reading or writing.  The prompt is in blue. http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/2011/07/saturday-centus-oh-say-can-you-see.htm

This is a continuation of my two previous centus's.   1

Frances was just beginning to read the letter when she thought she heard music.   She put the letter in her pocket; walked to the front sidewalk and looked down the road.   She could hear Oh say can you see by the dawn’s early light.  It was a van with speakers on the outside.   As it reached her house, she could see a big sign saying Vote for Will for Mayor.

The van stopped .  A young man got out.  “Hi, my name’s Will.  I’m running for mayor.   My family originally owned this home.”

“It’s very nice to meet you Will.  My name is Frances”.

This short story is great. I was wondering what to wright. I can see now it's most simple. Excellent and thank you.

Great continuation of your story! I could just see the van rolling up the street, speakers blaring. And, well, the plot thickens. Can't wait for next week.

Clever way of working in the prompt into a story that is already on-going!

Great job with the continuation! A seamless bridge from one text to the next. Nice to see even these weird prompts aren't derailing your creativity!

So, Miss Viki.

I'm listening to my i-pod blaring while I read. Just as I started your post...Chevy Van started playing.

It made me laugh.

Do you remember that song? You are probably too young, but it definitely put a much spicier slant on the potential of that van!

Thanks for a fun link!

Happy 4th of July!
