The visit

My son left last Wednesday.  It was really good to see him.

Hippie went and picked them up from the airport and took the girlfriend to her mom's and brought our son home.  They had taken the red-eye flight.  Where they live there's a 3 hour difference.  They left at midnight their time and got here about 10 a.m. our time.  Needless to say when he came in, he looked like death warmed over so I got to say hi for two seconds and he went straight to bed.  The first week was spent visiting mom, going to the family picnic and them having friends over for days and nights.  The girlfriend left the following Wednesday.

By that time, my son reverted back to when he was a teenager and stayed up all night and slept all day. The basement where they stayed was a mess.  The more things change, the more they stay the same lol.

I pretty much didn't cook the whole time he was here.  We ate out a lot or brought stuff in.

All in all, it was nice having him home.   My expectations were high which I should know better but I did get to talk to him about a bunch of things which was good, ha.

I just sent my son to first grade today, and I was sad enough. I will miss all of this when he is grown up. I won't miss his mess, though!

I'm glad you had time with him. It's never the same once they leave home; it's good, but never the same.

Glad the visit went well, even if you didn't get all of your expectations met. You saw him, you talked, you DIDN'T have to COOK! Good times.
