Happy Mother's Day

Even though mom won't get to see this, I thought I'd tell you some things about my mom.  I bought her a card and will stop at the florist to get her a bud vase with some flowers since that's about all the space she has enough for in her room.

Some things you don't know about my mom.  She was the driver in the family because dad didn't drive.  She would take us all over when we were kids.  She was very involved with our elementary school being a noon aide.  She used to help the nuns and drive them places.

She was always very fun loving.  A couple of embarrassing things she did when I was young was for a couple of years when we went for Christmas to my one aunt and uncles house she would dress like Santa Claus.  She would wave to the people as she was driving in the outfit.  Us kids, use to duck our heads so no one would see we were with her LOL.  Also, she had an old car and decided to paint it pink.  OMG, talk about driving in an eyesore and having people look at you LOL.

After I got married, when she would come to our house she would always bring what she called "A Happy Day" present.  Usually it was something small.  As she grew older, we started bringing her "Happy Day" presents.

She always liked to sing. She used to be in the choir when she was in high school.  She still remembers her music teachers name and the old school song.   Even at the nursing home she's kinda "known" for her singing LOL.  She used to tell me that she would wake herself up from singing in her sleep.  I didn't know if that was true or not until one time she was in the hospital.  I was sitting there while she was sleeping and sure enough she started singing ;-).

Mom's birthday is in May she will be 83.  I'm going to save some stuff to tell you about her then.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day.
