Boy, florists and other stores must make a mint on Mother's Day. Practically, every person I saw come into the nursing home either had fresh flowers or plants.
I was shocked when I went to the florist and paid $23 for three purple and white carnations with greenery in a vase. Not that I minded paying but I have so many of those little vases at home. I could have gotten more flowers for less and put them in the vase myself and had left over for me LOL. I think that's what I'm going to do the next time.
Mom's doing okay but that left leg is still bothering her a lot. I read up on hematoma's and it said it can last for weeks or months. Besides seeing the nurse practitioner on Monday, she saw her new doctor on Wednesday. Right now, when she's in bed they are having her legs elevated and are putting warm compresses on it. There's a chance if it gets worse they might have to drain it Yuck!! I'm a little concerned where this is going. I did get a chance to meet the nurse practitioner on Friday. She seemed very nice.
Since we sold Mom's house I had some money to spend, I bought her a new hearing aid for her left ear since that one hasn't worked for a while. She's going to get it today.

Hi Viki, sounds like a pretty good Mothers Day. Yup, they really stick it to us thoughtful daughters this time of year, don't they? I like your idea about the vase. Very clever!
Hope all is going well with your mom.
Blessings & Aloha!
