Party time

My cousin emailed me and said she was bringing a cake for Mom on Sunday for Mom's birthday.  So we went.  There were my two cousins, their husbands, my brother, his wife and us.

I didn't tell mom about it just in case something happened.  We were the first ones there.  We sat in the lounge area and talked.  Then my brother and his wife came.  My mom didn't suspect anything.  Then my cousins and their husbands came with a bunch of balloons and a cake.  She was so surprised.  Although she thought it was her birthday and just didn't remember.  I told her they were there to celebrate her birthday which is Wednesday.

It was great to see everyone.  We all laughed and talked about old times.  I guess everyone's at that age now that's what we talk about when we were kids, the old neighborhood because they lived at my grandfather's for a while too LOL.

Everyone had a piece of cake.  It was marble cake which was very good.  Mom wanted me to give the roommate a piece.  So, I took one to her but I'm not sure she even knew who I was ;-).  We gave the rest to the nurses station and I think the aides ate it.

Viki, that is so cool. I bet your mom was thrilled. It nice to sit back and talk about old times. It's great that you see your mother as much as you do. Im sure she appreciates it more than you will ever know. -mike
