When my parents were married for their honeymoon, they went to a place called Geneva on the Lake and rented a cottage.
When we were kids we went there quite a few years for summer vacation. It was a lot of fun. As I got older, I met a girl my age from Pennsylvania and they would go the same time we did for a couple of years. I wish I could remember her name.
Towards the end when we were going there, they had coffee shops with beatniks LOL. We would go and have a cup of coffee and listen to poetry.
Does anyone remember beatniks? Do you remember Maynord B. Krebbs on Dobie Gillis ;-)

I remember on the Beverly Hillbillies when Jethro and Miss Jane dressed up like beatniks. What fun memories, like those of your childhood vacation spot. We went to Gulf Shores, Alabama and stayed in a cottage on the beach...what fun!
