Saturday Centus #28

It's Saturday Centus again - in a nutshell, Jenny Matlock gives us a prompt from either herself or a guest submitter and then we have to write 100 or words less related to the prompt (the prompt doesn't count toward the 100 words)  Then link it up to her blog.  It's open until the following Saturday, so that means you have all week to participate by either reading or writing.  http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/search/label/Saturday%20Centus

I want to say sometimes when I do Saturday Centus, I'm trying to work on some feelings I have.   If your looking for a happy, uplifting Centus this is not it LOL.

Prompt in bold ;-)

The early November sunshine cast golden rays on the trees all around her.  Sarah loved this time of year.  However, she had memories of a November when she had chemo and while she didn't dwell on it, it was forefront in her mind lately.

She remembered the loss of control.  How her life revolved around her treatments and how she felt.   How she saw everyone's life around her going as normal and thought how could that be.

She thought about the people she knew in her life now that were dealing with treatments or would soon be and felt anger and sadness.   Sometimes life is not fair.

Understatement...life is not fair! November is beautiful but it is melancholy always because it reminds of us the dying before spring's rebirth...it is even harder for those with heartaches and losses already.....

So realistic. It's certainly those trying times that reveal our true character. Blessings as you work through these thoughts.

It certainly seems that way at times, a real to life story that rings with the truth.

Life is certainly not always a happy place so this story fits perfectly into it. Thanks for sharing. Anne

Sometimes life is not fair. But we have to accept and assimilate the best out of it...

That's for sure. And you helped me imagine how such an anniversary might feel.

Hope this piece was cathartic for you. I often use my writing the same way.

Nice job, Viki.

=)

Oh, life can seem unfair indeed. And you brought real life to greet us head on in this story. We all need to remember, when we think we are suffering, what true suffering really is. God bless.

Life is not always fair but sometimes when we turn the corner there might be unexpected golden rays of sunlight. Hope we all find some :)

I don't know if this is fact or fiction. (Hope it is fiction.) Yes, life can be really unfair.

I really feel for the protagontist in this piece of prose. Memories of something very unpleasant can really spoil the beauty of fall colours or what ever reminds her of that terrible time.

God bless her and return to her the joy of living that was lost from that time.

Great Centus.

Best wishes,
Anna

Sometimes people who don't know anyone with Cancer has no idea what they go through unless someone like you shares their struggle to live. Thank you Viki for sharing. I have lost a grandmother, and a niece to Cancer. And I'm fighting that fight with my husband right now. Bless you. Very good use of the prompt!~Ames

I am so sorry that we live in a world where cancer is still a threat. May we all unite together to fight it and find a cure!

Very touching Viki, you took the prompt and touched on life's seasons. Hopefully the spring will bring a new beginning.

Oh, Vicky, This is so very touching and real. As a hospice nurse, I deal with people in treatment often, and you captured their helplessness.

Great Centus.

Thanks..........cj

PS Writing about hard times has been great therapy for me. Hope it holds true for you, too.

Beautiful way to remind us of the preciousness of life. And yes, it's not fair. It is what it is. How we respond is our choice. Looks like you make good ones.

Viki, this is beautifully written and so poignantly expressed the isolation that comes from chronic illness.

You touched me with your observations.

Sharing your feelings somehow makes me feel bonded to you on this observation of life.

Thank you.

You are amazing.
