Wow

I almost got tricked on Halloween.  We had 98 kids come.  Wow, we haven't had that many in years.  I ended up with 7 candies left, whew!!  I sat on the front steps the whole night.  It was in the 40's.  I wore my winter hat, coat,  gloves and sat on a cushion, ha.   Hippie brought me hot chocolate and coffee.  I didn't really start getting cold until the last 1/2 hour.  We have it from 6 to 8.  I still don't care much for trick or treat starting in the daylight.

Eek! Running out of candy is worse than ending up with far too much left over. This year, the kids were far less grabby and most didn't take more than one. We count on them to take at least 2. We have SweetTarts, Nerds, and some other garbage coming out of our ears. Want it?

I ran out of candy by 8:00pm. That's my cut off time anyway. I even had one boy come back for seconds. I am sure there were more I didn't recognize because they came in a pack of twenty. I saw them discussing it and pointing back to me at the end of my drive. I think it's because the word got out that I was handing out full size candy bars. What a bunch of little turds! Next year I won't do that. It's back to regular snack size treats. Also I had one mother tell me if it has p-nut butter in it we don't want it. Can you believe that? My poor neighbor decided to do the honor bowl system. Ha ha! I could have told him that never works. About ten minutes later he was wiped out! Kids! You gotta love em! ~Ames

These comments were funny. :0)
My grandson made out like a bandit!
His friends will enjoy eating his candy long after theirs is gone like they do every year.
He's not a big candy eater.

Running out of candy is a scary thought on Halloween. But 98 kids!!! I might have gone back into the house after 75 and turned the lights out. :)

I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE the Thanksgiving quote at the base of your blog header. Is that gentleman the author or are you?
