This is a shake up week. We can use 150 words plus the prompt. It is all to be written in dialogue. I rather enjoyed this shake up unlike last weeks, lol.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Does it look like I'm ready to go?"
"Are you seriously ordering another martini?"
"It is my birthday.""This will be your 6th martini since we got here for dinner."
"So what; are you my dad?"
"Sometimes you make me feel like I have to be."
"Look Bill, I certainly don't need another father. I am an adult with children."
"Yeah, children you can't take care of at times because your sloshed".
"Let's not go there again."
"You are going to have to do something, Barb. I can't be worried if the kids are going to be safe with you."
"You're crazy!"
"I'm crazy? I'm serious. If you don't get your drinking under control, I'm divorcing you and taking the kids."
"You just go ahead and try. We'll see who wins."
"I have enough people that will back me up because of your drinking. You are unfit. Now let's go."

OOps they better beware...too much drinking can lead to....great run on your dialogue I'm having trouble not joining in with them all...it just all runs way too smooth...and fun...Thank you Jenny, this week is total fun..even without pictures!
Sounds like he has a good point. Good for you for writing about an alcoholic mommy (vs daddy) in a very realistic scenario.

What a slice of life. It feels real. I am sure there are lots of real conversations like this everywhere all the time.
Well done.

Yikes! I hope she chooses her children over booze!!! Good take on the prompt!
Sad part is that this story happens all too often.
Good job.
Very realistic and very well written!
Good job on this. Seems that alcohol causes so much trouble...I wonder why folks don't stay away from it.

that was really truly sad. you did a great job.
So real! Good one.
I am more used to seeing alcoholic daddies out here....but the scenario is changing and I liked how you gave the guy a decent role for a change. Well done.
This sounds too true to be funny. Well observed dialogue:-)
Well done. Working in a law office, I hear similar accusations frequently. laurie
