Saturday Centus #25

It's Saturday Centus again - in a nutshell, Jenny Matlock gives us a prompt from either herself or a guest submitter and then we have to write 100 or words less related to the prompt (the prompt doesn't count toward the 100 words)  Then link it up to her blog.  It's open until the following Saturday, so that means you have all week to participate by either reading or writing. http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/2010/10/saturday-centus-scary-story.html

For some reason I had a very difficult time with this prompt.  Oh well.  Prompt is in bold.

"This is the scariest story I've ever heard, Grandma".

"Missy, that's why voting is so important".

"I was so happy to be voting for the first time now I'm not so sure.  Who do I vote for?"

"You need to find out what the candidates stand for".

"Who are you voting for Grandma"?

"I'll be voting for the person I think will be best for our country".

"Mom and dad won't tell me either but I know they don't agree".

"That's the beauty of voting, Missy.  You have the right to make your own choices".

"Okay, Gram.  I think I'll get started I've got a lot to learn".

well I am canadian and I don't vote. Whoever gets in is not my cotton pickin choice . governments belong to God and they better do their job as best they can , that's all I have to say , cause they are dead meat either way . haha *ya I'm not into politics nor am I patriotic .

Good take on this with the elections so near! And THAT is a pretty scary prospect this time around.

Very good take Vicki. I found this one to be hard too. I still haven't come up with anything as of yet.

I like it that you let the granddaughter make her own choice. People need to get informed and pray for our leaders to do the right thing by us. I am a firm believer in "if you don't vote, you don't have a say or the right to complain!". Excellent use of the prompt!~Ames

Voting actually empowers us. I like the message here. I have always voted and will continue to do so...

I struggled with this prompt too. It was harder than it looked!

I like how you went in a very different direction. (And learning about our choices at the voting booth can be a very scary experience.)

I like your unexpected use of the prompt. I had a hard time with this one too. And I had an idea floating around about women voting and suffrage, but just couldn't get it to gel. These elections are going to be scary indeed, much more so than ghosts and ghoulies! Kat

Very strong and civic minded take on this prompt - a thousand miles from my "Nuts."

This is such an important message, and you have written it down beautifully. Thanks for the reminder..........cj

Great and unexpected take on the prompt. Some things in life are really scary and they have nothing to do with ghosts! It can be the choices we make on election day. You had your thinking-cap on!

I am way behind because of my computer woes last week. Right now, my home-computer is working, but for how long? (That's scary for me!)

Thank you so much for visiting and commenting on my SC-post. You are first and get and extra link!
Best wishes,

Well done. Skip Halloween and go straight to the scariest day of the year - election day! (Some politicians scare me more than a horror movie.)

Love that you got a moral behind your story too. Great work.
