So, we left about 7:45 on October 27th to drive to Vegas to take our son's car to him. These last 2 years they've only had the girlfriend's car. Her's was pretty old and was costing too much money to get it fixed.
We took the GPS and got a trip tik from AAA. Hippiie wanted to use the trip tik instead of the GPS. Okay!!
We got lost once in Indianapolis, Indiana but it only took about 15 minutes to get back on track.
When we got over the border in Illinois we stopped at a McDonald's for coffee. Hippie wondered why we got the coffee so cheap and when I looked on the receipt they gave us the senior coffee price (we never thought to ask about it) we were laughing so hard we went the wrong way on the freeway. Thus we had to go back over the border into Illinois again. Naturally it was my fault because I distracted hippie @@. At the McDonald's I never saw this before, they had three f aux leather chairs and a big screen TV for people to watch. Anyone have a McDonald's like that where they live?
We got lost a little in Missouri but somehow ended up on the right freeway, just in time for rush hour and about a half hour before the 6th game of the World Series was to start. We went right past Busch Stadium. We saw the blimp above it. Right after St. Louis we were going to stop for the night. I wanted to stay in Eureka. We took a road that there was supposed to be a Best Western and drove up and down hills and a curvy road, past a ski resort, very high speed limit in the dark. We kept looking for some place to turn around and finally after 5 miles we found a place. We went to the next exit and found a Super 8 and stayed there. Turns out it was in Eureka, ha. I made the decision right then and there that would be the last time we would be looking for a motel in the dark, ha. After we got checked in we went to Denny's to eat, then went back to the room and watched the baseball game. The next day when we left, in the afternoon I found Rush Limbaugh on the radio. I never listen to him but I was starved for entertainment so we left him on. Then when we were driving down the freeway we saw a hand painted sign that said "Obama is destroying our country". How apropos LOL.
More next time.

What a "trip" in more ways than one! A large screen tv in McDonalds and cushey chairs.
Never have I seen the likes in my travels, but there was a time that us older folk met there in the morning for coffee and conversation and that would have been a nice addition to be able to watch the morning news.
