Alphabe-Thursday

This was a post I had originally written for the letter P.  Then I thought for sure PJ would do it for her Alphabe-Thursday since she always had such warm and fuzzy feelings for that last guy on her Alphabe-Thursday posts, ha!!  That's what I get for thinking LOL.  So at the last minute,  I came up with my PTA post instead.  Since I still had this one, I thought I would use it for today ;-)  I see PJ did all her Limbaugh posts but this is really different anyhow, ha,ha.

For Alphabet-Soup week here was my original  P post.   I chose one of my pet peeves PUNDITS.

I really think since pundits came on the scene,  they have really played with peoples minds.  No matter what your political persuasion is, you have to take everything pundits say with a plethora of salt.

Some pundits that I won't name, I can only stand to listen to for so long.  I just don't have the patience sometimes to listen to their predictable, paranoia predictions.

Most of the pundits aren't any smarter than regular people.  People want the truth and don't want a version of the truth that they seem to promote depending on what side they are on.

I always laugh when pundits paint Celebrities/Hollywood stars as pitiful for speaking up for things they believe in.  Like pundits have all the answers.  I'm also not saying they do but neither do pundits.  Funny thing is when Celebrities/Hollywood stars agree with them all of a sudden they are pleased LOL.

So, my hope is when people listen to pundits they are very prudent.   That they are not  passive and are picky to find out the truth.

Go over to Jenny's and see what other people used for this Alphabe-Thursday it should be very interesting..http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/

This was Perfect for P! I couldn't agree with you more. I think our country would be much better off if people starting thinking for themselves again instead of repeating a bunch of regurgitated pablum spewed by hatemongers. OUCH - sorry, didn't mean to get on my soapbox lol. Anyway, hope to see you in summer session! Kat

What Kat said. Ha!

Great choice and timely. Although I can't remember a time when this wasn't timely. Whatever happened to thinking independently, civil discussions, and live and let live?

If only Pundits were Propelled into listening to their own Positively Preposterously Puny Pablum!

Totally agree - more independent thought needed!

Happy Alphabe-Thursday,

LOLA:)

PS Mine this time is HERE. Hope you can join me!

What, no pictures? Well, I guess sometimes you have to do a text-only post.
I'm sorry, but I am not well enough informed understand your post. I haven't lived in the US for many years.
Happy Summer!

Excellent post, Viki! I agree with you about pundits.

You really packed a lot of of the letter P in this post. ;)

I have issues with pundits also. It would appear that they just decided to make themselves an expert and then spout their opinions out as if it were manna from heaven! sheesh!

Yep, pundits are annoying. And increasingly so in this political environment.

There are so many hateful pundits out there. My parents were always involved in politics, but I now consider politics a necessary evil in a Democracy. I guess cable TV and 24 hour a day coverage has changed things more than anything else. There is so much air time to fill. It's sad.

Hi Viki,
I'm a relative newcomer to Alphabe Thursdays, and I've been enjoying all the different types of posts. I also enjoy following bloggers that are a few steps ahead of me in life. It's nice to have some lead the way. Thanks for stopping by. I have a blog on my blogroll called 2 to 4 a day who also has both parents in a nursing home. You might enjoy her posts about her parents they are often funny. I enjoy them because I help to care for my 91 year old Nana.
Loved the hairdo's by the way.

What a reminder of what NOT to listen to! I get so tired of hearing so much hot air that I sometimes don't even listen to the news for a while...then I come creeping back. Thanks for the reminder that we are smarter than most of the bigmouths out there

you make a great Point! interesting post indeed Viki!!!

Pundit? Excellent choice for the finale. Some people like to talk just to hear themselves. Fortunately, not too many listen.

Great "P" post. Pundits can be persuasive.

We don't use the term 'Pundit', but I guess that it is similar to what we might call 'Spin' which is where the politicians put a certain slant on things to make them seem favourable in a way that they are not. The spin doctors are the media 'experts' who advise in all things public image.

First I had to look up Pundit! LOL And now that I have educated myself, I couldn't agree with you more! Great post.

Fun post, thanks for sharing! I traveled and lived in many countries. Some countries like Qatar are not democratic. People do not get to vote on anything and anyone. You are also not allowed to make any comments on Allah or the government. That's one extreme. Then you have countries like the US and Canada. We can say what we want, when we want. Pundits are part of the big picture unfortunately. Between living in Qatar or a democratic country I will chose to live in a democratic country where pundits exist ( I also hate them btw). Its just my 2 cents. OK, I'm getting off my soapbox now. LOL
